"The International"
27th Annual Fly-In of the Minot Aircraft Modelers
August 24, 25 & 26, 2007

The 2007 International was another success, Thank You to those who attended, we look forward to seeing you in 2008. 

The following pictures are from Saturday only, they are very fire heavy as that did dominate most of the days activities. 

For those who didn't attend, the fire started after a jet turbine which had recently taken off crashed after having an unknown in-flight problem causing it to crash and explode on impact.  Luckily I heard him say "something isn't right" so I started to take as many pictures as possible. 

Thankfully no one was hurt, and there was no crop loss, due to many fortunate circumstances.  The crop had already been harvested so it was only stubble.  Immediately after the fire started many ran into the field to fight the fire, soon a local farmer arrived with a disk and built a fire break, shortly thereafter the Deering, Surrey and Minot Rural Fire departments arrived and succeeded in putting out the fire.

The Minot Aircraft Modelers owe a huge THANKS to the Deering, Surrey, and Minot Rural Fire Departments for without their help this fire may have gotten out of control.
